Symptoms & Precautions of Dengue

Dengue is a viral disease which is transmitted by mosquitoes of specific species namely Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. The infection causes flu like symptoms but sometimes it develops into a severe and complicated problem.

As per WHO, 400 million new cases appear every year. Because there is no specific treatment available to kill the dengue virus, many patients develop severe problems leading to hospitalization of 5,00,000 patients every year.

Dengue was first recognized in 1950s in Vietnam and Thailand. But now it has spread to most American and Asian countries. Each year, around 12,500 people cannot survive the dengue virus and die.
